WALANG PASOK – Various local government units have declared class suspensions due to the enhanced habagat.

The trough of Typhoon Yagi (formerly known as “Enteng”) continues to affect Northern Luzon, while the southwest monsoon impacts Central and Southern Luzon. Palawan and Occidental Mindoro are experiencing monsoon rains, while localized thunderstorms are affecting other areas, causing cloudy skies and occasional rains.

The inclement weather conditions have resulted in moderate to strong winds and rough seas in affected regions.

Although Severe Tropical Storm Enteng has exited the Philippine area of responsibility, the southwest monsoon continues to bring rains and gusty winds, particularly affecting parts of Luzon and Metro Manila.

On Thursday (September 5, 2024), due to the ongoing heavy rains caused by the intensified southwest monsoon, worsened by Severe Tropical Storm Enteng, many areas declared class suspensions to ensure the safety of students and school staff.

In Metro Manila, several cities have suspended classes at all levels for both public and private schools.
