Pres. Bongbong Marcos Jr. Asked about VP Sara Duterte’s Statement to KOJC Members
MARCOS JR. – The Philippine President reacted to Vice Pres. Sara Duterte apologizing to the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) members for seeking support for him.
Currently, there are speculations and questions on the real ties between Pres. Bongbong Marcos and Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. There were several recent instances that sparked these speculations and questions.
Vice Pres. Duterte left the Marcos cabinet. Over a month ago, she resigned from being the secretary of the Department of Education (DepEd). She also ditched the 2024 State of the Nation Address (SONA) of the President.
Duterte refused to watch the SONA 2024 even on gadgets. Previously, the Vice President explained that her decision to leave the cabinet of the President includes both work and personal reasons.
Amid the public speculations and questions, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte has recently spoken on her relationship with Pres. Bongbong Marcos now. She admitted that they have not talked or seen each other.
Recently, Vice Pres. Duterte apologized to the members of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) which is led by Pastor Apollo Quiboloy. At the KOJC’s founding anniversary, the Vice President apologized to the KOJC members for seeking support for Marcos Jr. who was her running-mate in the 2022 Elections.
The intensified search operations of the PNP in the pursuit of serving the warrant of arrest against Pastor Quiboloy is happening under the administration of Marcos Jr. According to the Vice President, she was on a “mistaken belief” on unity and the continuity of the programs from the previous administration.
Recently, Marcos Jr. was asked about his reaction to Duterte asking for apology to the KOJC members. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the Chief Executive admitted that he does not understand why she has to do it but stressed that it is her decision.
“That’s her prerogative. I still don’t understand why. That is her wish, wala tayong magagawa,” the President said.
At the founding anniversary of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ, Vice Pres. Duterte stressed that she committed a mistake for seeking support for Marcos Jr. Based on the report, the President admitted that he and the Vice President have not talked since she resigned as Secretary of the Department of Education and vice chair of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC).
“The last time I spoke to her was when she handed me her resignation. We haven’t spoken since,” Marcos Jr. said.
The PNP continues its operation at the KOJC compound in the pursuit to search for Quiboloy. The authorities believe that he is still inside the compound.
