Lawyer of Cassandra Ong Speaks on Client’s Claim on Controversial Photo

CASSANDRA ONG – Attorney Ferdinand Topacio claimed that his client confirmed her photo with President Bongbong Marcos and First Lady Liza Marcos.

The investigations on the illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators’ operation in the Philippines continues. The continuity of the probe is amid Pres. Bongbong Marcos’ previous order to ban POGOs in the Philippines.

Currently, the authorities are still investigating on how dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo was able to leave the Philippines amid several complaints filed against her. She is faced with accusations on her alleged involvement in the POGO operations in her town.

Guo’s identity is also in question. According to the Bureau of Immigration, Guo was able to leave the country without passing by the immigration. She reportedly flew to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia and then to Singapore. The dismissed Mayor is reportedly in Indonesia now.

The sister of Alice Guo, Shiela Guo, and Cassandra Ong were detained in Indonesia and sent back the Philippines. Ongwho is facing accusations of Porac POGO link was sent to the House of Representatives yesterday while Guo was transferred to the Senate. Charges were filed against them.

Amid the investigation, Attorney Ferdinand Topacio presented a an alleged photo of Pres. Bongbong Marcos and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos with the supposed POGO personalities. The lawyer presented the photo during a Pandesal forum and it elicited different reactions online.

Recently, Atty. Ferdinand Topacio spoke anew and claimed that his client, Cassandra Ong, confirmed her photo with Pres. Bongbong Marcos and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos.

“I would like to tell you that Miss Cassandra Li Ong confirms the authenticity of this picture,” Topacio said.

Based on the report, aside from Pres. Marcos and teh First Lady, spotted in the controversial photo include PAGCOR Director Jose Maria Ortega, Special Envoy to China Benito Techico, and former Bureau of Customs official Noel Patrick Prudente. Retired General Noel Estanislao is also in the photo.
