DOJ Secretary Boying Remulla Speaks on Vice President Sara Duterte’s Bodyguards
Vice President Sara Duterte still has more than 320 security personnel left according to Department of Justice Secretary Boying Remulla.
Recently, countless Filipinos were surprised when Vice Pres. Duterte released an open letter for Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Rommel Marbil. She claimed that Marbil was speaking lies in his interviews which mentioned her.
The issue between Duterte and Marbil came after the PNP relieved 75 of its personnel assigned for the security of the Vice President. In her open letter, Duterte claimed that the 75 cops that were recalled by the PNP include his most trusted men.
Duterte denied the claim of Marbil that the PNP made a request to the OVP regarding the relief of some of her security detail. According to the Vice President, they were only informed by the PNP about it.
Vice President Sara Duterte also cited the malicious spreading of her video in NAIA when she recently flew for a personal trip with her family. Duterte earned backlash after reports that the Vice President flew abroad amid Typhoon Carina lashing at Metro Manila cross the surface.
Duterte also claimed that some members of PNP went to their place of residence for the “casing”. The PNP denied the “casing” claim of the Vice President. She also stressed that Mindanao also lacks sufficient number of police after some of her security detail were removed and re-assigned to the National Capital Region for the reason that the NCR lacks sufficient police population.
Recently, Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Boying Remulla spoke on the security personnel of Vice President Sara Duterte. Based on a report on GMA News’ Balitambayan, the Justice Secretary claimed that the Vice President still has 320 security personnel.
Remulla stressed that the Vice President still has 300 bodyguards which is “bigger than the president’s”. The Vice President has yet to comment on the state of the Justice Secretary regarding her security detail.
Previously, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte called to her allies and supporters for the protection of her family. She stressed that there is nothing to worry about her but she appealed to not let any harm be done to her mother, husband, and children.
