Flood Victim Expresses Dismay After Receiving Traffic Ticket for Wearing Slippers
VALENZUELA CITY – A flood victim expresses his frustration after receiving a traffic ticket for wearing flip-flops amid the flood crisis.
Recently, Jecs Evangelista, a local affected by the recent flooding, took to Facebook to express his anger and disappointment. He posted a photo of the ticket he received from the Valenzuela City Traffic Management Office.
The citation was issued because he was driving his motorcycle while wearing only shorts and flip-flops.
Evangelista explained in his post that the floods had devastated his home, washing away his clothes and belongings. He was forced to use whatever he had left, which included his flip-flops and shorts.
The flood victim questioned why, instead of focusing on relief efforts and cleanup drives, the authorities chose to enforce dress code regulations.
The man pointed out that the floods had severely affected the area, and many residents were struggling to recover. His frustration grew as he felt that the enforcers showed no understanding or compassion for those affected by the disaster.
The traffic office has yet to respond to the complaint, leaving many to wonder if there might be a more considerate approach during such emergencies.
