David Licauco shared what he felt sharing the frame with Alden Richards
Kapuso actor David Licauco, also known as the Pambansang Ginoo, talked about his first scene with Asia’s Multimedia Star Alden Richards in the series Pulang Araw.
David has been blessed with with different projects after his big break in the series Maria Clara at Ibarra in which his unexpected onscreen partnership with Barbie Forteza became so popular.
He is one of the main cast members of the new Kapuso historical drama. In a recent interview, based on the article in GMA Entertainment, David shared what he felt when he had his first scene with Alden.
The Pambansang Ginoo admitted that he felt intimidated during the take for his first scene with the Pambansang Bae.
David Licauco said that he just reminded himself of his purpose and not to get nervous. “I think ‘yung very first scene with him I got intimidated, but I just told myself na, like, ‘You are here for a reason, you worked hard for this, so why would you get nervous,’ you know?” he revealed.
For him, the scene he did with Alden is the most difficult he has done so far. He said that it was a rollercoaster of emotions. David had to show a happy mood, then, sad and angry. Eventually, he has to show that his character accepts defeat. The actor said that there were a lot of layers in this acting.
In the series, which will premiere on July 29, David plays the character of  Hiroshi Tanaka, the son of Japanese immigrants in the Philippines in the 1940s. Growing up, he became friends with Adelina (Barbie Forteza), Teresita (Sanya Lopez), and Eduardo (Alden Richards).
Meanwhile, Barbie Forteza admitted in a previous interview that she did not like initially being paired with David Licauco as her love team partner. Their tandem is now known as BarDa.
