Jean Garcia talked about how she handles a slapping scene
Seasoned actress Jean Garcia shared how she would react if her co-star did not want to be slapped in a certain scene.
Jean has been in the industry for several decades already. Her versatility is one of the reasons behind her longevity in showbiz. However, she is more popular for her kontrabida roles in teleseryes.
As an antagonist, it is more likely that she would slap or hurt other characters. In a recent interview on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, Jean was asked by the King of Talk what she does when her co-star does not want to be slapped.
Jean Garcia shared that she would ask her co-star first if he or she wants the slap to be true or fake. “‘Pag sinabi niyang hindi, sabihin ko sa kaniya, kausapin mo yung director natin kung papayag siya,” the seasoned actress said.
She said that there should be a conversation about this. Jean said that on her part, there is no problem if her co-star does not want to be slapped. However, she stressed that her co-star should have the appropriate reaction needed in the scene.
“Medyo mahirap yun, ire-react na hindi ka naman nasampal. Baka kasi, makatulong kung medyo masaktan ka naman kahit papaano. Pero kung ayaw naman irerespeto po natin ‘yun,” she stressed.
In the same interview, Jean shared that the most common misconception about her is that she is “mataray”.
Jean Garcia is part of the new Kapuso series Widow’s War as Aurora Palacios. This series features Bea Alonzo and Carla Abellana as the lead actresses. In a previous interview, Bea shared that she is excited to work with Jean once again after 20 years. The Kapuso actress also admitted that she is a fan of the seasoned actress.
