PAGASA Says Generally Fair & Hot Weather to Prevail Over PH
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that fair and hot weather will bring isolated rain over some parts of the country.
On Tuesday (April 30, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The ITCZ will affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA weather specialist Rhea Torres reported that the Intertropical Convergence Zone will affect southern Mindanao. Generally fair and hot weather conditions will prevail over most parts of the archipelago.
“Ngayong araw ay magpapatuloy pa rin ‘yung mainit na panahon sa malaking bahagi ng ating bansa, liban na lamang ‘yung mga tiyansa ng mga pulu-pulong mga pag-ulan,” Torres said.
The ITCZ will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over the Davao Region, Surigao del Sur, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi.
“Mayroon po tayong mga namamataan na mga kaulapan more on dito sa may southern portion ng ating bansa, at kung makikita po natin, ilang bahagi po ng Mindanao ay naaapektuhan nito, ito po ‘yung Intertropical Convergence Zone o ITCZ,” she said.
The easterlies and localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Visayas, Palawan, including Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro.
“Kaya asahan po natin dito sa may katimugang bahagi ng Mindanao makakaranas po tayo ng mga kalat-kalat na pag-ulan,” she added.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience similar weather conditions.
The weather agency has warned the public of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition throughout the country will be slight to moderate. PAGASA did not raise a gale warning in any seaboard.
