The Unified Multi-purpose ID card or more popularly called the UMID ID can give you ease in accessing the services of the SSS, the Government Service Insurance System or GSIS, PhilHealth, and the Pag-IBIG Fund.
It is open for the SSS members who have posted at least one (1) monthly contribution. It replaced the SS ID. It can be used in many other transactions and the application process is easy.

Step 1 — Prepare the requirements.
Prepare the requirements in applying for a Unified Multi-purpose ID card to the Social Security System. Have your valid IDs photocopied and accomplish and sign the UMID ID Card Application Form.
Step 2 — Visit a branch of the Social Security System (SSS).
You may visit a branch of the Social Security System that allows walk-in applications for a UMID ID card. In case of unscheduled visits to the state-run social insurance institution, it is best to follow the coding system implemented by the SSS:

Step 3 — Submit your documents and enroll your biometrics.
Visit a branch of the SSS and submit your documents. It is best to wear a collared shirt or a blouse. A photo of you will be taken at the enrollment station and you will have to remove your eyeglasses, jewelry, and other accessories.
Your biometrics will also be taken. After the taking of your photo and biometrics, you will be given a stub.
Step 4 — Claim your UMID ID once it is ready.
The Social Security System (SSS) will inform you within 30 days once your UMID card is ready. Bring your stub in claiming your ID. It must be claimed within 60 days since the notification from the state-run social insurance institution was received.
