This is the lawmaker’s first public appearance since the congress proclaimed Camarines Sur representative Leni Robredo as vice president-elect.
While there are no details about their meeting were revealed to the media, there are rumors that the son of former president Ferdinand Marcos might join the Cabinet of incoming administration.
In an interview with the press and ABS-CBN News, Marcos said that he is willing to join the cabinet family of Mayor Duterte.
“The details have not yet been ironed out. If given a chance, it would be an honor,” he was quoted saying.
Sen. Marcos stressed that he has not asked for a cabinet position, noting that he will just leave the decision to the outgoing Davao City Mayor.
Sen. Marcos also said that he is willing to serve as a cabinet secretary after the one-year appointment ban of losing candidates.
“I’m always ready to (help Duterte) in any capacity even if it is just in the form of a friendly advice,” he continued.
Meanwhile, Duterte earlier said that he will not give a cabinet post to Leni Robredo since he might hurt the feelings of Marcos.
