Regine Velasquez renewed her contract with ABS-CBN
Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez has this another “pangarap” for her career in the entertainment industry.
Regine is considered one of the OPM icons. Her singing career is an inspiration to many younger artists. Aside from successful albums, sold-out concerts and shows, Regine also has a successful career in acting.
Eventually, she ventured into hosting and her current TV show is Magandang Buhay with Melai Cantiveros and Jolina Magdangal on ABS-CBN.
Just recently, based on the article in Pilipino Star Ngayon, Regine Velasquez signed a new contract with the Kapamilya network. From GMA-7, she decided to be a Kapamilya in 2018. She joined her husband singer-songwriter Ogie Alcasid who signed with ABS-CBN prior to her.
Within her five years as a Kapamilya, Regine already went through a lot of challenges. She said, “Even up to now, we still struggle, pero kahit na nakikita kong meron pa ring gano’n, we still do our best to serve the people the best way we can.”
Behind the struggles, Regine is thankful to the bosses of the network because even though the management is struggling, It still continues to provide jobs for many artists and for her, this is really something commendable.
The network’s biggest struggle happened with it was no longer allowed to renew its franchise back in 2020. Regine shared that going through this kind of phase is needed sometimes so that one can appreciate what is there. Through this also, the singer believes that they grow as Kapamilyas.
After renewing her contract, the Asia’s Songbird expressed that she is now more focused on her singing career. However, there is still one thing that she really aspires to do.
“I’m still here and I just want to continue to do well. Ngayon kasi mas kumakanta ako, kasi ‘yon ‘yung gusto ko gawin. Now I just want to concentrate on singing doing concerts. I love doing ASAP, variety show. Although, pangarap ko pa ring maging bold star, hindi man lang s=xy star, bold star,” Regine Velasquez quipped.
