PAGASA Says Amihan to Bring Rains Over Parts of the Country

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that Amihan will bring cloudy to rainy conditions over parts of the country.

On Saturday (October 28, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The northeast monsoon will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA is monitoring a low-pressure area outside the country. The Northeast Monsoon is expected to bring cloudy skies with rains over Luzon particularly in Quezon and the Bicol Region.

“Patuloy nating minomonitor itong low-pressure area sa ating Philippine Area of Responsibility, at kaninang alas 3 ng umaga huli itong namataan 2,000 kilometers silangan ng Mindanao,” Weather Specialist Daniel James E. Villamil said.

Amihan will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon. Similar weather condition with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms is expected over Northern Samar as well as Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

Possible flash floods or landslides are expected in those areas due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

The trough of the Low-Pressure Area (LPA) and localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather conditions over Visayas and Mindanao. Flash floods or landslides are possible during severe thunderstorms.

The coastal water condition over Northern Luzon will be moderate. The rest of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions, according to PAGASA.

“At sa lagay ng ating karagatan banayad hanggang sa katamtamang pag-alon lamang ang ating inaasahan, wala pa ring nakataas na gale warning sa anumang baybaying ng ating kapuluan, Malaya pa ring makapalaot ang ating mga kababayang mangingisda,” he added.
