PAGASA Says Amihan and Shear Line to Affect Country’s Weather Condition
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that the northeast monsoon and shear line will bring rains over parts of Luzon.
On Tuesday (October 24, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The northeast monsoon and shear line will affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA reported that the shear line will be affecting the eastern sections of Central and Southern Luzon. No weather disturbance is expected to enter the country’s vicinity within the week
It will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Mainland Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Aurora, Quezon, Camarines Norte, and Camarines Sur.
Amihan will bring cloudy weather conditions with rains over Batanes and Babuyan Islands. Flash floods or landslides are possible in these areas due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
“Samantala, sa nalalabing bahagi ng Luzon ay magiging bahagyang maulap hanggang maulap yung kalangitan or generally fair weather condition yung ating mararanasan maliban na lamang sa mga chance of rain at mahihinang pag-ulan,” weather specialist Grace Castañeda said.

The localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country. Possible flash floods or landslides are expected during severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Northern Luzon will be moderate to rough, while the remaining parts of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions, according to PAGASA.
“At para naman sa lagay ng dagat baybayin ng ating bansa wala tayong nakataas na gale warning kaya malayang makakapalaot ang mga kababayan nating mangingisda pati na rin yung mga may maliliit na sasakyang pandagat,” she added.
