Young Boy Touches Many Hearts for Using Fistful of Coins to Buy School Supplies
PHILIPPINES – A young boy with a fistful of coins to buy school supplies touched the hearts of the online community.
An 11-year-old boy named Niño whose simple act of counting a fistful of coins for the purchase of school supplies caught the attention of internet users and became a symbol of determination in the face of adversity.
Ian Kenneth Reyes and his partner Aaron Joseph Reckley were queueing at a store when they noticed Niño counting the coins he held in his hands. The kid is struggling to make ends meet for his school supplies.
Kenneth graciously covered the cost of Nino’s school supplies and suggested he keep his coins for daily allowances as he saw the young boy struggle. The child waited outside the store to say “Thank you” for his kindness and generosity.
When they uploaded the video, it garnered millions of views. Ian clarified that they didn’t profit from it; their intention was just to inspire others to lend a helping hand.
Generous netizens contributed money to supplement Nino’s school supplies. Ian even went the extra mile to search for and purchase additional items for Nino. The kid’s cousins also benefited from this wave of kindness.
Additionally, some individuals sent a tablet, cellphone, clothing, and other items to support Nino’s education. It was discovered that Niño had lost his parents at a young age, and his aunt’s family had taken him in.
His aunt, May Valerio, stated, “Iniraraos lang din po namin, gumagawa lang po talaga kami ng paraan para makapag-aral siya, Makapagtapos lang po siya ng pag-aaral… masaya na po kami doon.”
