Presidential hopeful and Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago said in press interview that she’s going to attend the last presidential debate administered by Commission on Elections (Comelec) which will be hosted by ABS-CBN this coming April 24, 2016.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News and other members of the press after a commencement exercises at the Bulacan State University in Malolos, Bulacan where she was invited as the guest speaker, she stated “Oh yeah I will be there!”
The People’s Reform standard-bearer also expressed her disappointment over the conduct of the previous presidential debate held at the University of the Philippines Cebu.
“I would like to raise it to a higher level. Nagsisiraan lang ng nagsisiraan ang mga kandidato,” she said.
“Gusto ko sana yung discussion ng ating mga domestic issues and even international policies,” the 70-year-old senator further added.
Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago believes smear campaign has no place in this so-called “intelligent debate” however according to her, she will fight back against her rivals if they will hit her below the belt. But in a polite and smart way.
