PAGASA Says Habagat to Bring Rains Over Parts of the Country

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that southwest monsoon will bring isolated rains over parts of the country.

On Saturday (September 9, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Habagat will continue to affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA reported that the southwest monsoon will bring cloudy weather condition and rains over the western sections of Northern and Central Luzon. These regions should brace themselves for the possibility of rainfall.

Habagat will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the entire Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro. Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience similar weather conditions.

Visayas and Mindanao are expected to experience generally fair weather condition with chances of light rains and thunderstorms in the evening or afternoon.

PAGASA has also warned the public about possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Cloud clusters have been spotted outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility. While these clusters have the potential to develop into tropical cyclones, their chances of doing so are currently considered slim.

The coastal water conditions over Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro will be slight to moderate, according to the weather bureau. This information is important for maritime activities and safety measures along the coasts.
