PAGASA Says Habagat to Affect PH Weather Condition (September 8, 2023)
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that habagat is expected to bring rains over some parts of the country.
On Friday (September 8, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The southwest monsoon will affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA reported that the southwest monsoon will bring cloudy skies and isolated rain over the western sections of Northern and Central Luzon.
“Mahinang habagat ay naka-aapekto pa rin sa may kanlurang bahagi ng northern Luzon at sa central Luzon,” weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said.
Habagat and the localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
The weather agency has warned the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
Cloud formations spotted around Taiwan and outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility may develop into a low-pressure area. It may affect the country’s weather conditions over the weekend.

The southwest monsoon will affect a bigger portion of Luzon by Sunday (September 10) and Monday (September 11).
“Kasalukuyan, may mga kumpulan ng kaulapan sa bandang Taiwan, at ganoon din po sa may bandang Dagat-Pasipiko sa labas ng ating Philippine area of responsibility. Itong mga kumpulan ng kaulapan ay may posibilidad [na] mabuong low pressure area,” he added.
Hot weather condition is expected in different parts of the country, according to the weather bureau PAGASA.
