PAGASA Says PH Expects Warm Weather Condition on Monday (August 7, 2023)

PAGASA UPDATE – The state weather bureau has reported that most parts of the Philippines will experience warm weather conditions.

On Monday (August 7, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update for the country. The southwest monsoon will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA reported that the southwest monsoon will primarily affect the western section of Luzon. Cloudy weather conditions, rain showers, and thunderstorms are expected in parts of the country.

Malaking bahagi ng ating bansa — sa Luzon, sa Visayas at Mindanao — ay makararanas po ng generally mainit na panahon,” PAGASA said.

The habagat will bring cloudy conditions with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Abra, and Benguet.

The monsoon and localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

The weather agency advised residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods and landslides due to heavy rains and severe thunderstorms at times.

Weather specialist Obet Badrina said that warm weather is expected in most parts of the country. “Pero possible pa din yung isolated rain showers at thunderstorms sa hapon hanggang sa gabi,” Badrina added.

Meanwhile, the coastal water conditions over Extreme Northern Luzon will be rough, while the rest of Luzon will experience moderate to rough conditions. Visayas and Mindanao will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions, according to the weather bureau.
