Elijah Canlas mourns after his younger brother died
Award-winning actor Elijah Canlas received the support of his girlfriend actress Miles Ocampo amid the grief he feels now after his brother JM Canlas passed away.
Last week, the online community was shocked by the news about JM’s death. He was 17 years old. Netizens, friends, and fans expressed sympathy for the family of the young actor who starred in the movie Kiko Boksingero.
Based on reports, JM suffered from mental health problems. The family of the deceased did not elaborate on the details surrounding his death.
Following their loss, Elijah Canlas shared a heartfelt message to his younger brother. This received heartfelt reactions as well from the online community.
In a recent article by entertainment writer Jun Lalin in Abante, he shared that they went to the wake at St. Peter’s Chapel Quezon Avenue and they saw how Miles Ocampo supported her boyfriend amid this difficult time.
The writer shared that when Elijah saw them, he immediately hugged them. The actor thanked them for being there. Miles was beside her boyfriend and she was not leaving his side.
Elijah’s mom, Mommy Lyn, was also there and shared that the actor arrived in the Philippines on Tuesday from abroad. Their family is greatly affected by JM’s death, especially Elijah.
Lalin also shared that when Elijah knew about his brother’s death, he asked his family to wait for him. JM’s remains were cremated. “Nang magpunta kami sa burol, cremated na ang mga labi ni JM,” the writer shared.
When Elijah Canlas arrived in the Philippines, he had to go to ABS-CBN immediately because he had to shoot for the Kapamilya series Senior High. “Kailangan kasi siya sa taping, pero pumayag na ang production na sa Monday na uli siya mag-work,” Mommy Lyn shared. She also expressed gratitude to everyone who sympathized with them.
