Elijah Canlas talked about his plans as an actor
Award-winning actor Elijah Canlas shared that he started doing some efforts toward his dream to establish an acting career in Hollywood.
Elijah received several recognitions for the movie Kalel, 15. He was hailed as the Best Actor in the 68th FAMAS Awards and 17th Asian Film Festival because of this film. In a recent interview, based on the article in Bandera, the actor is looking forward to showcasing his talent in the international entertainment scene.
Elijah shared that he wants to do films like Triangle of Sadness which featured Pinay actress Dolly de Leon.
“Right now, the dream is more alive than ever,” the actor said about his Hollywood dream, adding that he wants to direct films someday as well.
Elijah Canlas also shared that he already sent self-taped audition videos to Hollywood hoping that he will have the chance to do an acting stint there.
“At this age, it’s already easy to do this. Sending self-taped auditions is practiced not only in Hollywood, but in different countries as well. “I’ve sent three or four videos already. A couple of weeks ago, I met international agents who came to Manila to visit,” the actor said.
As of this moment, no one has picked up his videos yet but he understands that this is a part of his journey as an actor.
Meanwhile, Elijah Canlas is set to do a movie with Dolly de Leon. The seasoned actress will be his mother in the movie Keys to Heart. The actor was overwhelmed when Dolly called him by his name.
“When we began shooting, I was surprised when I heard her call me by my nickname, Jelo. She said she’d been watching me since I was 12, while performing in theater,” he shared.
