Mall Guard Dismissed From Job After Allegedly Throwing Puppy from Overpass
QUEZON CITY – A mall guard earns negative reactions from the online community after allegedly throwing a puppy from an overpass.
A puppy lost its life after allegedly being thrown from a footbridge by a security guard in Quezon City. The incident started when the security guard confronted a group of children who were reluctant to leave the area, resulting in the guard purportedly resorting to extreme measures.
The Animal Kingdom Foundation, a local animal welfare organization, has condemned the act as not only animal cruelty but also potential child abuse.
The community demands justice for the innocent animal while the security guard’s agency expresses remorse over the incident and claims to be conducting an investigation.
According to witness accounts, the security guard reprimanded a group of children for their refusal to vacate the premises. The guard allegedly seized their pet dog and callously threw it from a footbridge near the establishment.
Janine Santos, a witness to the incident, expressed her disbelief and sorrow in a heartfelt Facebook post, sharing that everyone present was appalled by the guard’s heartless actions.
“Pauwi na ako galing work… Bago pa ko makarating dun sa harap nung guard, kitang-kita na po namin na may kaganapan between guard and mga bata. Kinakausap niya ito at pinaalis. Pero hindi umalis ang bata. Bigla hinablot ung aso mula dun sa bata at saka ibinato sa baba,” Santos said.
The children and a representative of the mall rushed the injured puppy to a nearby veterinary clinic. However, their efforts were in vain, as the veterinarian declared the dog dead on arrival. The preliminary cause of death was reported as brain damage and nose bleeding.
While the security guard in question has not stated the incident, the agency responsible for employing the guard, RJC Corporate Security Services Inc., expressed deep regret over the tragedy.
They assured the public that a thorough investigation is underway, conducted in collaboration with public authorities and other relevant parties. The agency acknowledged the gravity of the situation and pledged to take appropriate action based on the findings of the investigation.
