Filipino Singer Gets Standing Ovation from Canada’s Got Talent Judges
A Filipino singer wows the four judges of Canada’s Got Talent and earned a standing ovation during the audition.
After being thrilled with Raymond Salgado’s singing talent , the four judges of Canada’s Got Talent recently stood up after him. After originally failing on American Idol, the Filipino talent is returning to the stage.
“(The judges) didn’t think I was ready at the time. I was going through a lot of negativity and self-doubt and it really did affect me,” Salgado told judges prior to his performance.
Salgado, a singer from Lantzville, performed a version of Bryan Adams’ song “Heaven” as the main event. Raymond sang the tune with all of his skill and love, and the audience stood up and clapped at the start.
Following that, we can see the admiration in the expressions of the judges Howie Mendel, Lilly Sigh, Trish Stratus, and Kardinal Ofishall, which culminated in a standing ovation in reaction to the fantastic performance of the Filipino talent.
Following his performance, Judge Lilly Singh stated that this was Salgado’s moment. “I think it’s safe to say today you were ready, today is your day.”
Raymond received four yes votes, earning him a spot in the next round. It’s an additional honor for the 24-year-old artist to represent the Filipino-Canadian community in such a show.
Howie Mandel said he was “the best we’ve heard”.
