Queen of Teleserye Theme Songs Angeline Quinto revealed something about Popstar Royalty Sarah Geronimo.
Sarah rose to fame before Angeline was able to conquer her own spotlight in the entertainment industry. However, they have known each other even before they became famous.
Aside from being schoolmates, as what Angeline shared in previous interviews, she and Sarah also had the same singing contest stints in the past.
In a recent interview, based on the article in Bandera, Angeline Quinto revealed that it was because of “Popstar Royalty” Sarah Geronimo that she abandoned her plan to quit singing and performing.
Sarah G played a pivotal role in Angeline’s showbiz success, a debt of gratitude the latter said she will forever cherish.
The Queen of Teleserye Theme Songs had actually been planning to give up singing until she watched one of Sarah’s music videos. Angeline reportedly hadn’t sung for nearly five years when she saw Sarah G’s music video for her hit song “Sa Iyo.”
“Hindi alam ni SG yun. Magmamadaling-araw na tapos tulog na si Mama noong napanood ko. Yung ‘Sa Iyo’ yon. Tapos bigla ako nabuhayan ng loob. (Sabi ko) ‘Grabe si Sarah! Kung kaya ni SG, kaya ko rin,” Angeline shared.
The singer also mentioned that Sarah was one of the artists she considered inviting as a special guest for her 15th-anniversary concert, “Aquinse,” at the Araneta Coliseum.
“Gusto ko ma-witness niya 15 years ko kasi siya as inspiration ko nang bumalik ako sa pagkanta after mawalan ako tiwala sa career ko at pag-asa na maabot pangarap ko sa singing. Ta’s noong una ko nakita sa ASAP. Naisip ko buti na lang di ako sumuko,” Angeline Quinto shared.
She also said that she would like to have Megastar Sharon Cuneta and Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez as special guests at her concert.
Meanwhile, Angeline Quinto shared in a previous interview, that aside from being a singer, and eventually becoming an actress on TV and movies, she also wanted to venture into theater.
