Truck Driver Trapped Between 2 Container Vans Inside Warehouse
A truck driver suffered several injuries after being trapped between two container vans inside a warehouse in Cagayan de Oro City.
On Tuesday afternoon, July 21, 2026, a truck driver suffered fractures in his arm and ribs after being trapped between two container vans in Barangay Puntod. Despite the serious injuries, he survived and is currently recovering in the hospital.
The driver was believed to have been standing beside one of the container vans at the time of the accident. Witnesses suspected that he may have been urinating near the side of the container when the incident occurred.
A forklift operator was moving to another container van and placed it beside the first one. After a few moments, a loud scream was heard from the area, prompting nearby workers to check the noise.
One of the first responders, Paul Ampo, said he immediately looked through the narrow gap between the two containers after hearing the cry for help. He then discovered the trapped driver and quickly alerted the forklift operator.
The operator promptly moved the container back, allowing rescuers and workers to reach the victim. The driver was then given assistance and brought for medical treatment.
Authorities said the victim suffered fractures in his arm and ribs due to the impact of being squeezed between the massive containers. Although his injuries were serious, he was fortunate to survive the accident.
Reports further stated that the truck driver decided not to file a complaint after reaching an agreement with the forklift operator involved in the incident.
The investigation into the accident has been completed, while the injured driver continues to recover from his injuries.
