Vice Ganda fired back at his bashers
Unkabogable Star Vice Ganda did not hesitate to respond to the bashing he received from some of the “toxic” fans of Kapamilya actress-host Kim Chiu.
The issue stemmed from Vice’s failure to mention Kim in his thank-you speech at the inaugural FAMAS Broadcast Arts Awards on July 20, 2026.
Vice was hailed as Best Host for Entertainment for the Kapamilya noontime show It’s Showtime, which is currently airing on GMA-7, and which also won the award for Best Variety Show.
In his acceptance speech for the Best Host for Entertainment award, Vice shared the trophy with his Showtime family. He mentioned Anne Curtis, Vhong Navarro, Jhong Hilario, Amy Perez, Ogie Alcasid, Jugs Jugueta, and Teddy Corpuz.
He also acknowledged Karylle, Jackie Gonzaga, Ion Perez, MC, Lassy, ​​Cianne Dominguez, Darren Espanto, Ryan Bang, Brent Manalo, Ralph de Leon, and the Baby Dolls.
Vice Ganda did not mention Kim, which angered some of the actress-TV host’s fans. The comedian-host did not let the criticism from detractors slide.
One fan had remarked that it was strange he overlooked Kim while remembering the newer hosts. “Strange how someone could forget to mention her name when she’s an essential part of the show—one of the main hosts while the newer ones were mentioned. @vicegandako,” Kim’s fan said. Vice reposted this and commented, “The toxicity of these fantards!” He also tagged Kim to let her know about the bashing she was receiving from the actress’s fans.
Another fan pointed out that the absence of a prompter was no excuse for forgetting Kim. They claimed that it was evident that Vice was showing favoritism. Vice retorted: “Grabe the kacheapan of these fans! Look @prinsesachinita.”
Vice Ganda also answered a fan who reminded Kim that she shouldn’t let herself be belittled or ignored. “You know your worth don’t let anyone dim that. You deserve so much better than this, better treatment, better respect, and better recognition. Still hoping you’ll quit Showtime!” a fan stressed.
The Unkabogable Star simply replied to this with, “The entitlement. Eeeewwww!!!!”
Kim Chiu reacted to this, and she stressed that this action of fans does not necessarily mean “kacheapan.” “Ayaw ko na sanang palakihin ito. Pero bilang mga taga supporta hindi naman cguro ka cheapan ang tawag duon,” the actress said.
She also stressed that perhaps the fans’ protectiveness stems from the immense love and support they have for their idol, and for her it was likely just an initial reaction.
Kim also said that it was not that she condoned their behavior, but she wished that they had just let it slide. “Kung wala ang mga taong sumusuporta at lubos na nagmamahal sa atin wala din tatangkilik sa lahat ng ginagawa natin,” the actress added.
