17TH STAR AWARDS FOR MUSIC – The list of winners was released, and artists like James Reid, Moira, Ben&Ben, and Maki won major awards.
The biggest names in the Original Pilipino Music industry dominated this year’s Star Awards for Music winners. They were recently gathered in one venue as the Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) honored the industry’s finest artists during the awarding event held at the Teatrino in Greenhills on June 25.
Regine Velasquez, Ben&Ben, James Reid, Jayda Avanzado, and Moira dela Torre were the top winners of the events.
Dela Torre was honored as Female Recording Artist of the Year for her song “San Ka Na” (UMG Philippines), while TJ Monterde took home the Male Recording Artist of the Year award for “Sariling Mundo” (PolyEast Records). Meanwhile, Ben&Ben won Duo/Group Recording Artist of the Year for “The Traveller Across Dimensions” (Sony Music Philippines), and James Reid’s “jgh” (Careless Music/Sony Music Philippines) was recognized as Album of the Year.
