Woman Caught on Camera Allegedly Stealing Pair of Slippers in Aklan
A woman selling religious statues has gone viral online after she was allegedly caught on CCTV taking a pair of slippers from a house in Batan, Aklan.
Recently, Angelika Villaruel Tulio, a Facebook user, shared photos and video footage showing what appeared to be the woman taking the slippers from their property. The post garnered various reactions from many netizens.
According to Tulio, the incident happened on the morning of June 21 in Barangay Man-up, Batan. The family only noticed that a newly purchased pair of slippers was missing when her sibling was about to use it.

The family decided to check the CCTV footage installed at their home. The video allegedly showed a woman selling Santo images stopping in front of their house and entering the terrace area.
After a few moments, she was seen picking up a pair of slippers and placing them inside a sack bag she was carrying.
Before leaving, the woman reportedly called out to check if anyone was inside the house. After receiving no response, she left the area and continued on her way.

The uploader expressed disappointment over the incident, especially since the missing slippers had only recently been bought. She also shared that it was the first time they had seen the woman in their neighborhood.
Some internet users pointed out the irony of someone selling religious items being linked to a theft accusation, while others reminded the public that authorities should still verify all facts before making conclusions.
As of writing, the identity of the woman has not been publicly confirmed, and there has been no official statement from local authorities regarding the incident. The matter remains based on the CCTV footage and the claims shared by the uploader online.
