Grade 7 Student Found Carrying Drug Paraphernalia Inside School Campus
A Grade 7 student was allegedly found carrying a drug paraphernalia inside a school in Talisay City on the first day of classes.
On June 8, 2026, a young woman was caught carrying a drug paraphernalia inside a school in Barangay Matab-ang, Talisay City.
According to reports, school officials immediately took action after receiving information from a student leader regarding a classmate who was allegedly carrying a suspicious item.
Based on the investigation conducted by the Talisay City Police Station, a teacher received information from the school’s Student Council President, who reported seeing a student in possession of what appeared to be an improvised tooter, a device commonly associated with illegal drug use.
After being informed about the situation, school personnel approached the student and asked her about the reported item. During the conversation, the student voluntarily took out the alleged drug paraphernalia from her pocket and showed it to the authorities.
Police officers were then called to the school to verify the report and assist in handling the situation. The item was immediately taken into custody and later turned over to the Provincial Forensic Unit for proper examination and testing.
Meanwhile, the student, who is a minor, was placed under the custody of the Talisay City Social Welfare and Development Office. Authorities said the agency will handle the case and determine the appropriate intervention and support needed for the child.
To protect the identity and welfare of the student, officials did not release her name or the name of the school involved. Authorities emphasized that cases involving minors are treated with confidentiality and care.
Investigations are still ongoing as authorities await the results of the forensic examination of the recovered item.
