A female netizen expressed admiration for an elderly delivery rider who continues to earn a living through honest work despite his age.
Recently, Paulee Balanay, a Facebook user, shared a photo of the elderly delivery rider who is still working hard and making an honest living. The post quickly went viral and received various reactions from the online community.
According to Paulee, the rider was delivering an item that required cash on delivery payment amounting to P240. During the transaction, the elderly rider accidentally handed over an extra P100 along with the payment.
Instead of keeping the excess money, Paulee immediately returned it. The incident left a strong impression on her, especially after seeing an elderly man continue to earn a living through honest work.
Many social media users shared the same sentiment, saying they felt both inspired and saddened by the reality that some senior citizens still need to work long hours just to cover their daily expenses and medical needs.
Paulee chose not to publicly share his personal contact details. Instead, she offered to temporarily receive donations on his behalf while ensuring that all contributions would be documented for transparency.
After speaking with Tatay Tony by phone, she learned that he spends most of his days on the road making deliveries. The motorcycle he uses is reportedly borrowed from a relative, and he continues to work mainly to support his maintenance medications and everyday expenses.
Balanay also shared that the elderly rider often spends long hours away from home and usually has no one with him. Because of this, people who wish to send goods or in-kind donations were encouraged to coordinate through her so the items could safely reach him.
