Sandara Park Takes on a Meaningful Mission Beyond the Entertainment World
SANDARA PARK – Known for her success in both the Philippines and South Korea, Sandara Park is now taking on a new responsibility that goes beyond entertainment.
K-pop star and actress Sandara Park has been appointed as an ambassador for South Korea’s Overseas Koreans Affairs Office, an organization dedicated to supporting Korean nationals and communities living abroad. In her new position, Sandara will help promote the agency’s initiatives and strengthen connections between Korea and overseas Korean communities.
The former 2NE1 member shared the news with her followers through social media, where she posted photos from the appointment ceremony. The images showed her receiving official documents that confirmed her role as one of the agency’s ambassadors.

Expressing her gratitude for the opportunity, Sandara reflected on her personal experiences growing up overseas. “I am truly grateful to play a meaningful role,” Sandara said in Korean, crediting her time in the Philippines surrounded by fellow Koreans.
She also emphasized her commitment to serving both the Korean community abroad and her home country. “From now on, I will work diligently to be a family that helps my overseas compatriots and the Republic of Korea. Thank you!” the singer added.
The Overseas Koreans Affairs Office responded warmly to Sandara’s announcement through a comment on Instagram. The agency thanked her in Korean for “empathizing with the heart of compatriots.” It also expressed confidence in her ability to foster stronger ties between Korean communities worldwide and their homeland.
“Please continue to be a wonderful bridge connecting Korea with Korean communities around the world!” the office also said.

Sandara’s appointment is particularly meaningful given her unique background. She moved to the Philippines at the age of 10 and became a well-known figure in the country’s entertainment industry after placing second in the reality talent competition “Star Circle Quest.” Her success led to numerous acting and music opportunities before she eventually returned to South Korea.
Upon returning, she debuted as a member of the globally recognized K-pop group 2NE1, which helped establish her as an international star. Despite her success in Korea, Sandara has maintained strong ties with the Philippines, regularly visiting the country for concerts, special appearances, and personal vacations.
Her new role highlights her longstanding connection to overseas Korean communities and her ability to represent their experiences on a global stage.
