Vice Ganda shared this political opinion for the next elections
Unkabogable Star Vice Ganda said that he is still rooting for former Vice President and incumbent Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo for the 2028 presidential elections.
Mayor Leni has already expressed that she just wants to remain in Naga when asked about the next elections. Just recently, her supporters and even fellow politicians had been urging her to run for president. Once again, the female politician said that she will not run for a national position.
Despite this statement from the former Vice President, Vice said in a recent interview, based on the article in Balita, that he is still hoping that she will run for president.
The comedian-host said that a politician’s initial statement about not running could still be changed, with the intention to serve.
“I’m still rooting for Leni,” pagsisimula niya. Well let’s see. Marami namang nagsasabing kung sila silang, hindi na sila tatakbo. Pero dahil sa clamor at kagustuhan nilang makapagsilbi,” Vice said.
The comedian also stressed running for president is not a personal decision, and for him, this is the reason why many politicians still change their minds even after declaring that they will not run for president.
“Kaya maraming tao na naiiba ‘yong desisyon nila kasi nare-realize din nila na this is not just about me,” he said.
Meanwhile, celebrity content creator Rica Peralejo, who is also one of the vocal supporters of Mayor Leni Robredo, had a different reaction to the female politician’s declaration that she will not run for a national position.
Rica said that he is happy with Mayor Leni’s decision because this meant that she would still have more time for her children and personal matters.
As of this writing, Mayor Leni has not released a statement yet regarding Vice Ganda’s opinion.
