Sen. Imee Marcos Apologizes to Vice Pres. Sara Duterte
IMEE MARCOS – The presidential sister and Senator revealed what she told Vice President Sara Duterte when she was convincing her then to run for the vice presidency.
In 2022, the BBM-Sara tandem made history for a strong win. The supporters of the Dutertes and the Marcoses which are two (2) of the most popular clans in the Philippine politics united. The victory marked the return of the Marcoses in Malacañang.

However, just a few years after they both won in the 2022 Elections, Pres. Bongbong Marcos and Vice Pres. Sara Duterte started to be seen in the opposing sides of the political spectrum. The public started to notice it since the Vice President resigned from being the secretary of the Department of Education (DepEd).
The issue was further triggered by the arrest and the transfer of custody of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. Vice Pres. Sara Duterte believes that Pres. Bongbong Marcos allegedly committed an impeachable offense over her father’s arrest.

Amid the political issues, presidential sister and Sen. Imee Marcos aligned herself with the Dutertes. She stressed that she cannot accept what was done to former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte and she recently urged PBBM’s department to disclose in full details the arrest of the former President.

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte previously claimed that it was Sen. Imee Marcos who is her friend and her relationship with Pres. Bongong Marcos is purely about work. Recently, through a video message to the Filipinos that was posted on social media, the presidential Sister revealed that she was the one who convinced the then-Mayor of Davao to run for the vice presidency.
“Sinabi ko sa kanya, ‘Hindi mo dapat biguin ang napakarami na sumu-suporta sa’yo. Napakadami namin na itinutulak ka na ikaw ang inaasahan na ituloy ang pagbabago na sinimulan ng ama mo. You can’t disappoint us,” Sen. Marcos said.

Furthermore, based on the post, Sen. Imee Marcos told then Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte that she is allegedly the hope of many people. According to her, there are allegedly instances when the Vice President would mention about her convincing her to run for the vice presidency.
“Ikaw lang ‘yung tanging pag-asa ng nakararami… Hindi tayo sigurado kung anong mangyayari… Ngayon nag-uusap kami, sabi nga niya, pag nayayamot sasabihin sa akin, ‘Kasalanan mo ‘to eh. Dinamay-damay mo pa ako, eh’,” she added.
Recently, Sen. Imee Marcos claimed that she wants to apologize to the Dutertes most especially to Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.
