A kind passenger gained praise online after giving more than the proper fare to a jeepney driver despite the rising price of diesel.
Recently, Roel Stephen S. Manuel, a Facebook user, shared a photo of the passenger who paid more than the required fare. The post quickly went viral on social media and received various reactions online.
According to him, the male passenger handed over P200 as payment and then immediately got off the jeepney. It appeared that the passenger intentionally gave more than the required fare as a way to support the driver, especially at a time when diesel prices continue to rise.
Instead of asking for change, the passenger simply walked away. The small but meaningful gesture touched the driver, who felt deep gratitude for the unexpected help. For many jeepney drivers, daily earnings can be unpredictable, and rising fuel costs make it even harder to make ends meet.

“Gusto ko lang magpasalamat kay sir na nag-abot ng 200 bayad then biglang bumaba. Mukhang ginagawa nya ito para makatulong sa mga tsuper kasi sinadyang magbayad kung kailan sya bababa sabay lakad agad palayo.
Di ko alam kung gaano katagal nyo nang ginagawa ito, pero mula sa akin at sa lahat ng mga tsuper na natulungan nyo, maraming maraming salamat po! Malaking tulong po ito sa amin ngayong mataas ang presyo ng diesel.
