According to Melanie, she was at work when the video first appeared in their family group chat. It was sent by her sister, who happened to witness the child helping herself to a snack. The short video soon turned into a lively and amusing conversation among family members.

“Nag-react yung lola ko na kawawa daw at ginugutom namin, yung tito ko naman gusto ipasundo agad dahil papakainin nila. Yung lolo ko nagalit, kaya sinabihan yung mga cousin ko na sunduin sa bahay,” De Guzman said.
Others quickly suggested picking her up so they could personally make sure she had enough food to eat.
Melanie later explained that her daughter had already eaten lunch and had milk before the video was taken. It made the situation even more amusing for her, as the family’s reactions became more dramatic than expected.
One of her cousins even went to their house to fetch Maleia, following the grandparents’ request to bring her over and give her more food. The video showed how much the child is loved and cared for by everyone in the family.
