Following this incident, it is likely that PBA commissioner Willie Marcial will summon them after tossing with over six minutes left in the fourth quarter of the contest won by the Elasto Painters, 112-109.

Rain or Shine coach Yeng Guiao said it was a bit unfortunate and added, “I think the referees just lost control of the game at that time. They were allowing too much contact.”

A fight broke out between Johnson and Khobuntin during their PBA game at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The two were battling for position when tensions rose, and punches were thrown before officials and teammates stepped in. Both players were called for Flagrant Foul Penalty 2 and may face penalties from the PBA.

Shortly after, Johnson issued an apology. He vowed to do better next time, saying he won’t let his emotions get the best of him if a similar situation arises.

“I mean, I didn’t want that to happen, but it happened how it happened. And I’m sorry how it happened. It won’t happen again. I guess that was a lesson learned… In the future, I mean, like I said, I’ll be better in that situation,” Johnson said.

He also apologized to the PBA, as it was not his intention to create that kind of image for himself.

Khobuntin also admitted that his emotions got the better of him. The TNT player said, “Wala, mataas masyado ‘yung emotions, siyempre dikit ‘yung game, nagkagulo. ‘Yun lang naman. Nagkapisikalan kasi ta’s medyo nag-swing-swing, so wala na ‘kong nagawa.”
