Mother Suffers Severe Complications After Procedure at Public Hospital, Family Seeks JusticeÂ
A mother experienced serious complications and lost her uterus after undergoing a medical procedure at a public hospital in Narra, Iloilo.
The incident involved a 31-year-old woman who was rushed to the Narra Municipal Hospital on May 28, 2025 after she began feeling cold and had difficulty breathing. Her husband immediately brought her in, hoping she would receive proper care and recover quickly.
At the hospital, doctors reportedly decided to perform a uterine curettage, a procedure done when there may still be remaining blood in the uterus. At first, the family trusted that the treatment would help improve her condition.

However, after the procedure, the woman began to feel intense pain and had trouble moving. Her condition worried her family, leading them to transfer her to a private hospital for further treatment.
There, doctors discovered a much more serious problem. Medical findings showed that her uterus had been damaged, and her intestines were also affected. Because of this, she had to undergo additional surgeries, including the removal of her uterus and the placement of a colostomy bag to help manage her condition.
The incident has taken a heavy emotional and financial toll on the family. They continue to support her recovery while dealing with the growing cost of medical care.
Local officials have acknowledged the concern and stated that they are open to reviewing the case once the family submits formal documents. As of now, the hospital involved has not yet released a statement regarding the incident.
The family is now hoping for answers and accountability, as they try to understand how a routine medical procedure led to such life-changing complications.
