Jeric Gonzales confirmed his breakup with Rabiya Mateo
Kapuso actor Jeric Gonzales has finally spoken about the breakup between him and Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo.
Jeric and Rabiya’s relationship had its highs and lows, and some issues surfaced when they were together. Back in 2024, a rumor surfaced that they broke up since netizens noticed that they unfollowed each other on Instagram.
However, back then, Rabiya said that there was a little misunderstanding, and it was Jeric who told him about the breakup rumors since they were together in Taiwan at that time.
In a recent interview, based on the article in Inquirer, Jeric Gonzales confirmed that he and Rabiya Mateo are no longer together.
He said that his former girlfriend did not say anything about the separation, and because of this, out of respect, he opted not to speak as well. The actor has been single for a year now.
On the other hand, Jeric stressed that the breakup was a mutual decision. “But of course, there are things din na mutually na nakapagsunduan namin na parang kung ilalaban natin ‘to, mas mahihirapan tayong pareho,” he said.
However, the actor decided not to divulge the reason for their breakup, emphasizing that he and Rabiya remained “good friends.”
Jeric Gonzales also expressed that he is proud of his ex-girlfriend, who recently talked about her struggle with her mental health issues. “I’m proud of her, and I wish her all the best pa rin sa lahat ng ginagawa niya,” the actor said.
Rabiya Mateo caught the attention of the online community when she reached 741 General Performance Score (GPS) on the National Medical Admission Test (NMAT). Netizens said that she surpassed Linda Walker’s 719 mock test score. The beauty queen-actress decided to return to school to pursue her medical degree.
