In a previous article, actor Edu Manzano introduced his life partner to the public, ending the buzz online about their real score. During the EDSA 40 prayer rally, Manzano was with Ann Cuisia, and this was when the speculations started. Recently, they finally hard-launched their relationship to the delight of their supporters.
Who is Ann Cuisia?
She is one of the more prominent civilian voices speaking out on Philippine technology laws—attending congressional hearings, publishing policy analyses, and questioning lawmakers on bills related to government spending transparency and cybersecurity.
Cuisia has more than two decades of work experience in financial technology and digital transformation. She is best known for building platforms to extend financial services to underserved communities.
Her company’s key projects include digiCOOP, the country’s first digital cooperative platform that offers digital banking services to cooperative members, and Gava, a crowdfunding platform for social causes. She also leads Kadena Hub, a blockchain accelerator based in Mindanao, and was recognized as a Blockchain Champion at the Philippine Block Awards.
On cybersecurity, Cuisia attended a Technical Working Group hearing at the House of Representatives in February on the proposed Cybersecurity and Critical Information Infrastructure Protection Act. After the meeting, she shared concerns about the bill giving too much authority to a single agency, warning that such powers could gradually expand without clear limits.
She also questioned provisions related to open-source data collection, stressing that cybersecurity agencies should focus on protecting networks and infrastructure rather than monitoring content or public opinion.
