A video of Monasterio pulling her to him, his hands on her waist, and his face too close to hers, went viral online and sparked online discussions. The audience burst into cheers during the Kapuso star’s performance with the beauty queen. Meanwhile, Aldeano appeared to maintain a polite smile while remaining close to Monasterio.
After it created a loud buzz online, the beauty queen assured that while she felt uncomfortable at the moment, she eventually felt fine. In a statement, she clarified that the actor has already reached out to her and apologized.
Aldeano explained the situation after some viewers noticed her placing her hand on her waist while the actor was interacting with her on stage. According to her, the gesture was simply a way to maintain composure while managing a wardrobe concern.
Based on her statement, her gown relied solely on the structure of the dress for support and had no additional layers or support underneath. To secure the top, she placed her hand on her waist during the moment to “professionally and gracefully excuse” Monasterio’s hand. All this while ensuring she remained composed throughout the event.
The actor addressed the matter to her privately.
“I want to make it clear that Mr. Monasterio and I have already communicated, and the matter between us has been settled. He personally reached out to apologize and assured me that he will be more mindful in the future so that a situation like this will not happen to anyone again. There are no ill feelings,” she expressed.
She added a plea, saying people should stop making a big deal out of it anymore. She appealed to the public and media organizations to avoid sensationalizing the incident.
