Student Books Motorcycle Taxi Late at Night, Surprised to Find His Father as the Rider
A male student who went home late accidentally booked his own father working as a motorcycle taxi rider in Manila.
Recently, Dhenver Perez, a student who had just finished taking an entrance exam at a university in Manila shared the story. The exam ended late in the evening, and by the time he stepped out of the campus, it was already getting dark.
Since he needed to get home and public transportation could be harder to find at that hour, he decided to book a motorcycle taxi through a ride-hailing app.
Like many passengers, Dhenver simply waited for the system to assign a rider to his booking. When the rider accepted the request, he soon realized that the person assigned to pick him up was none other than his own father.
At the time, his father happened to be on duty as a motorcycle taxi rider somewhere in Manila. By pure coincidence, the booking request was sent to him and he accepted it, not knowing at first that the passenger would be his own son.
Instead of a regular ride with a stranger, the father and son ended up sharing a memorable moment. After recognizing with each other, they simply continued the trip and rode home together.
The unexpected encounter quickly elicited comments from the internet users.
Many netizens found the situation funny and touching at the same time, especially because it showed the hardworking side of a father who was out earning a living while his child was working hard in school.
According to Dhenver, the payment was simple and full of affection. Instead of money, he gave his father a kiss as his way of paying for the ride.
