In a statement, Anne Curtis accepted the apology of the wife of Bong Suntay.
Kapamilya actress Anne Curtis breaks her silence about the issue and accepts the apology of lawmaker Bong Suntay’s wife.
After some time dealing with what matters most, ABS-CBN actress Anne Curtis released a statement addressing the issue involving Quezon City 4th district Rep. Jesus “Bong” Suntay’s inappropriate remarks about her.

In a previous article, Suntay believed he deserved the backlash online due to his controversial remarks. He apologized to those who got offended, but his non-apology apology had only angered more, as he still stood with his analogy and expressed that there’s nothing wrong with his remarks.
Sheila Guevara, Suntay’s wife, apologized to the actress. In Sheila’s official statement apologizing to the actress, she appealed to the public and the media to spare her and the children. They are not supporting the lawmaker’s remarks.
Suntay’s wife stressed that every woman deserves respect, regardless of who she is, her family, or her background—an important value she firmly believes in and continues to uphold.
In a statement finally addressing the issue, Anne expressed that while she refuses to accept the non-apology apology of the lawmaker, she accepts one that came from his wife.
Curtis expressed a clear message, rejecting the apology but choosing not to dwell on resentment or bitterness. She expressed empathy and compassion toward the wife and children because, as a wife and mother herself, she can imagine how painful the situation is and the embarrassment, helplessness, and quiet grief the wife might be experiencing.
She wrote, “To her, and to your children: this is not your shame. Please know that. And I hope everyone reading this extends them the same grace. They did nothing wrong, and they deserve to be left out of it entirely.”
