Jeepney Driver Asks Working Student Get Off Because of Smell of Vinegar for His Lumpia Products

A working student was asked to get off a public jeepney because of the smell coming from the vinegar used for his lumpia products.

The student, identified as Nathaniel, sells lumpia with vinegar dip to support himself and his family. According to his story, he works hard every day because he is the one helping provide for their needs.

His mother has been diagnosed with cancer, and he feels responsible for helping the family get through their difficult situation.

Nathaniel shared that he was on his way to sell his products when he rode a passenger jeepney. He brought along his container of lumpia and the vinegar sauce that usually goes with it. For him, it was just a normal day of trying to earn money while continuing his studies.

However, the situation changed during the ride. Nathaniel said the driver confronted him about the smell of the vinegar from his products. The driver reportedly complained that the smell was bothering him and possibly other passengers inside the vehicle.

Because of this, the driver asked Nathaniel to get off the jeepney even though he had not yet reached his destination. The student said he felt embarrassed and helpless at that moment, but he still followed the driver’s request.

Since he still needed to continue his trip, he decided to take a tricycle instead so he could reach the place where he planned to sell his food.

A lot of netizens expressed sympathy for the working student, saying they admired his determination to help his family despite the challenges he faces. Others are hoping that people would show more understanding toward individuals who are simply trying to earn an honest living.
