Kapamilya actress Julia Montes expressed how proud she is of Coco Martin for his original series concept, “Sigabo,” their upcoming reunion project.
In a previous article, when Coco Martin announced the end of his top-rated series, “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,” on March 13, 2026, he also announced that he would be having another series with Julia Montes. This time, it is going to be his original concept, with the title, “Sigabo.”
The upcoming series will also serve as his reunion project with Julia Montes. It appears he is clearly not taking a break, as the show is set to begin airing on March 16. While he may have wanted some time off to reflect and recharge, his dedication to the production team and the viewers ultimately prevailed.
The series is not another adaptation. This time, it is his original concept, and in an interview, Montes expressed how proud she is of him because of this. She praised him, felt proud of their comeback primetime series, and expressed how lucky she is to be working with “passionate” people and artists when it comes to work.
“Very proud ako kay Coco kasi this time ito talaga ‘yung dream ko for him, eh. ‘Yung original story niya na talaga na maaangkin niyang kanya na talaga,” she said.
In this project, Martin will be exploring and experimenting. He will be working with comedians and doing new-artist combinations. He said, “Ibang style. Kasi kunyari sa ‘Batang Quiapo’ pinalibutan ko talaga ‘yun ng mga dramatic actors, ng mga veteran actors. Ngayon sabi ko nga ibang kombinasyon naman. Sabi ko, gusto ko papalibutan ko uli ‘to ng mga comedian.”
It will be episodic, which means there will be new stories every week. He will also be focusing on the creative side of the project and assured the viewers that this is going to be a source of joy and inspiration.
