Speculations surfaced that Eat Bulaga‘s Kalyeserye featuring Phenomenal Star Maine Mendoza might return.
The said segment in the longest-running noontime show was a big hit. It featured the unexpected tandem of Maine and Asia’s Multimedia Star Alden Richards. Together, they were known as the AlDub tandem.
Their phenomenal loveteam was so successful that it brought headaches to their rival shows. As AlDub, Maine, and Alden did several TV series and movies.
Even though the tandem has long been dissolved, many AlDub fans continue to cling to the loveteam, to the point that some supporters believe that Maine Mendoza and Alden Richards were secretly married and that they have already had a child. This speculation has long been debunked by Maine and AlDen.
Just recently, another speculation surfaced. It was during the 31st birthday celebration of Maine on Eat Bulaga, based on the article in Abante.
The Phenomenal Star was emotional in a positive way because of the birthday surprise that the Dabarkads prepared for her.
During the celebration, they recalled Maine’s beginnings as Yaya Dub in Kalyeserye until she became the Phenomenal Star. One of the people who greeted Maine was Lola Nidora, one of the characters in Kalyeserye, portrayed by comedian-host Wally Bayola.
It was just a voice-over, but it had a huge impact on the viewers, especially on the fans of that segment in the noontime show. Lola Nidora mentioned that she and Maine will see each other soon.
The actress-host was shocked about this, as were other hosts, while the studio audience cheered with excitement for the possible return of Kalyeserye. With this, it was said that netizens were asking who would be Maine Mendoza’s partner if the segment returned.
