Jasmine Curtis Tells Bong Suntay to Stop Talking After Anne Controversy
JASMINE CURTIS – Social media erupted when Jasmine Curtis publicly urged Suntay to stop talking following his remarks about Anne Curtis.
Kapuso actress Jasmine Curtis-Smith did not hold back as she addressed the controversy involving Quezon City 4th District Representative Jesus Manuel “Bong” Suntay and his remarks about her sister, Anne Curtis.
In a firm and unapologetic post on X, Jasmine delivered a blunt message to the lawmaker: “just stop talking.” The statement quickly went viral, earning thousands of reactions from netizens who echoed her sentiments.

The issue began during a House justice committee hearing on March 3, when Suntay used an analogy while explaining his point. In the process, he recalled seeing Anne Curtis at Shangri-La Mall. He described feeling “nag-init” and admitted to imagining certain scenarios in his mind, emphasizing that it was harmless since it was only his thoughts.
However, many online users and even fellow lawmakers criticized the remark, saying it reduced a well-respected actress and television host to an object of fantasy. The comment sparked discussions about respect, accountability, and the responsibility of public officials when speaking in formal settings.

Jasmine had already expressed her disappointment a day earlier. In a previous post, she questioned Suntay’s line of thinking and sarcastically greeted everyone with a “Happy National Women’s Month.” Her frustration became even clearer the following day when she wrote that Suntay should simply stop talking about the matter altogether.
Support poured in from fans and fellow celebrities, who praised Jasmine for standing up not only for her sister but also for women in general. Many pointed out that National Women’s Month is meant to celebrate empowerment and equality, making the controversy even more sensitive.

Suntay later issued a partial apology, saying sorry to those who felt offended and clarifying that his words were taken out of context as part of an analogy. Meanwhile, Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte encouraged him to make a more appropriate apology and to uphold the dignity expected from public officials.
Jasmine Curtis-Smith has long been recognized for her strong principles and close relationship with Anne. Once again, she demonstrated that she is unafraid to use her voice on important issues. For many supporters, her message was simple yet powerful, a reminder that respect for women should never be up for debate.
