Robin Padilla asked about the government’s preparedness on US-Iran war
Senator Robin Padilla shared this post amid the conflict that the United States of America, together with Israel, has with Iran.
US President Donald Trump vowed on Saturday (PH time) to annihilate Iran’s navy and missile sites. The two countries launched a major attack against Iran, which reportedly fired ballistic missiles at several American bases in the Middle East region.
Trump urged Iranian forces to lay down their weapons and have complete immunity or face certain death.

Following the confirmation that reports were received by the Philippine government regarding the airstrikes, President Bongbong Marcos released a statement highlighting that the government is prioritizing the safety of Filipino citizens in Iran and in the Middle East.
He instructed the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) to monitor the situation of Overseas Filipino Workers in the Middle East, especially in Iran.
Amid this conflict, Senator Robin Padilla shared his thoughts through his Facebook post. He stressed that the US and Israel had planned their attack against Iran, and the two countries were prepared for it. Then, he asked if the Philippine government had prepared for what could happen to OFWs in the Middle East.
“Ilang linggo ng naghahanda ang US at Israel sa kanilang pag atake sa Iran.
Napaghandaan ba ng gobyerno natin ang kaligtasan at paglikas ng ating mga Overseas Filipino Workers?” the senator wrote in his post.

In the comment section of his post, Padilla received support from people who also criticized the current administration of President Bongbong Marcos. Here are some comments.
However, a netizen who shared this on X, formerly Twitter, stressed that the actor-turned-politician was questioning the PH government’s preparedness for this kind of situation, when in fact, he is part of the government as he was elected as the number one senator in the 2022 elections.
