Ipit Gang Robs Grade 8 Student in Cainta, Rizal
A Grade 8 student loses her mobile phone after falling victim to an “ipit gang” in Barangay San Andres, Cainta, Rizal.
On Monday afternoon, February 23, 2026, a 15-year-old student was victimized by “ipit gang”. The incident, captured on CCTV, has raised serious concern among parents and residents in the area.
In the video, the student can be seen walking alone while carrying a backpack. After a few moments, a man wearing a jacket and a backpack suddenly moved ahead of him and slowed his pace. This caused the boy to stop briefly.

At the same time, another man positioned behind the student quietly stole the cellphone tucked into the garter of his pants. The phone was worth around P10,000.
The teenager did not immediately notice that his phone was gone. He continued walking, unaware that he had already been robbed. It was only when he returned home that he realized what had happened. He broke down in tears, shaken, and frightened by the experience.
His mother quickly reviewed the CCTV footage and decided to share it online to warn others. After posting the video, she received messages from several parents who said their children had experienced similar incidents.
The incident led to the belief that the same group may have been targeting students in the area repeatedly.
Barangay officials explained that the “ipit gang” uses a simple but effective tactic. One suspect block or distracts the victim from the front, while another stays behind to steal valuables. They often strike in crowded or narrow streets where it is easier to reach their target.
Authorities are still working to identify the suspects, who may have been pretending to be students. Security has been strengthened in the area as barangay officials and police continue their search.
