BATO DELA ROSA – A civil society group filed an ethics complaint against the Senator amid his months-long absence in his Senate duties.

After Ombudsman Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla claimed that the International Criminal Court has allegedly issued an arrest warrant against Sen. dela Rosa, the Duterte-known ally skipped the Senate sessions. Sen. Bato dela Rosa was mentioned as one of the alleged co-perpetrators of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte in the case against the former President before the ICC. Duterte is faced with three (3) counts of murder as alleged crimes against humanity.

The former President remains detained under the custody of the ICC in The Hague, Netherlands since March 2025. Amid the questions on the veracity of the claim of Ombudsman Remulla, Duterte’s former spokesman Harry Roque who is also in The Hague claimed that the ICC has allegedly long release the ICC arrest warrant against dela Rosa. He even advised the Senator to seek sanctuary in the Supreme Court.
