Truck Driver Injured After Being Stabbed w/ Ice Pick After Trying to Stop Fight
A truck driver was stabbed with an ice pick after trying to stop a fight in Barangay Sto. Niño, Marikina City.
On Saturday afternoon, February 21, 2026, a 48-year-old truck driver was injured after trying to stop a fight between his co-workers inside a trucking company.
According to the Marikina Police, the victim stepped in to calm down an argument between a 32-year-old truck driver and a helper. The disagreement reportedly started when the suspect, who had just returned from a day off, wanted to take another day off.

The helper told him that if he would not report for work, he would just ride with another driver. The suspect allegedly took this badly, which led to a heated exchange.
As the argument grew more intense, the 48-year-old driver tried to intervene. He pushed the suspect in an attempt to break up the fight. The suspect then walked away, but moments later returned holding an ice pick.
Without warning, he stabbed the victim several times, hitting him in the neck, back, and ear.
Despite his injuries, the victim managed to walk out of the compound while bleeding and asked for help. Police officers who were patrolling nearby responded quickly and rushed him to the hospital. The suspect was arrested shortly after near the scene of the incident.
Investigators also found out that the group had been drinking before the fight broke out. The suspect claimed he acted in self-defense, saying that the helper also had a bladed weapon and threatened him first.
He apologized to the injured driver and said he felt cornered during the confrontation.
The suspect is now under the custody of the Marikina Police and is facing a charge of frustrated homicide.
