Disconnector Personnel of Electric Company Hit with a Baseball Bat
Disconnector personnel from an electric company was injured after being struck with a baseball bat while carrying out his duties.
Recently, the Facebook page of Aksyon Radyo Bacolod shared photos of the electric company’s disconnection personnel who suffered bruises after being hit with a baseball bat. The post quickly went viral and received various reactions from the online community.
The victim, identified as alias JR, 34 years old, is personnel of Negros Power in Bacolod City. He was assigned to disconnect the electricity of a consumer in Barangay 16 due to unpaid bills. The incident took place in Barangay 16 last February 18, 2026, while JR was performing his regular task.
According to reports, a 23-year-old man known as alias Tim suddenly approached JR and asked if he knew him. There was no sign of any argument between them. In an effort to avoid trouble, JR crossed to the other side of the road.
However, the suspect followed him and, without warning, hit him with a baseball bat. JR suffered bruises on different parts of his body because of the attack. Barangay tanods quickly responded and were able to stop the suspect.
Tim was later brought to Police Station 1 for further investigation.
Police Captain Efren Legada said there was no known conflict between the two men and they did not know each other personally. Authorities believe the attack may have been done without a clear reason since no heated exchange happened before the incident.
JR has decided to file a physical injuries case against the suspect, who remains under police custody as the investigation continues.
